14 Mar Trust & clarity – why Satore offer a mentorship program
Navigating the transition from education to industry within the creative sectors can be challenging. Finding the right role, or where your true passion lies can be daunting with so many different factors. Figuring out how to combine your passion into a career and understanding what type of role / company to get that break for experience is something that people need help with.
Satore Studio has opened a new Mentorship Program to support these talents to channel their knowledge and creative power to the industry and the market in Lighting for Events, Immersive experiences and Business Management.
A lot of our previous mentees have had a positive experience, Satore mentorships straddle between the immediate and specific and the long-term and general. In the short term, mentees told us their shoulder-to-shoulder work with the team helped them set a new mindset to make their first steps “Choose wisely the projects you get involved in, and define clearly the activities you will develop;” “learn to say no,” “figure out what key words define what you are looking for a job. This way, you will be able to evaluate a company and job offer based on these keywords,” are some of the key teachings former mentees told us they got after their stay in Satore.
Beyond this coaching to enter in the industry, Satore’s mentorship also broke with the mentee’s mental boundaries and encouraged them to reach for the stars. A mentee came to the program believing there was no space for her pulse to blend fashion and architecture. “But then, Tupac told me about his experience, his projects, and who he met. Honestly, it was very inspiring and gave me a lot of hope,” mentee Sofia told us.
Another one, Nicole, born in Mexico, told us it was critical for her to be surrounded by a diverse team. “As a Mexican, finding Mexicans who have been successful internationally is very important. That’s the way Tupac has been for me and an example to follow, and the main reason why I chose Satore it’s because I trust in his work and experience,” she said.
Finally, the experience also offers the chance to get in touch with the industry and creative companies management. Alina, for example, said the program was an opportunity for her to further explore her background in set design, new technologies, and business management. “I was seeking advice on how to combine these three elements in my career. Satore matched me with Rubin Shah, their Managing Director, who was exactly the mentor I needed,” she posted on her Linkedin profile.
Beginnings can be overwhelming. We know it. Satore deals with this feeling every time a new project gets in the way. But after over a decade in the industry, the team has developed an expertise to surf the creative path and unleash the creative power within its members. The mentorship program is its way to help entrants into having clarity and allowing them to thrive.
