Satore Academy

Satore Academy aims to help provide learning and knowledge focused on the areas of interest that Satore operated within.

As Satore is a creative studio engaged in Lighting for Events, Immersive Content and R&D to push the boundaries of what is creatively possible.  As part of Satore Academy, Satore will be releasing a series of conversation with other leading industry advocates, an internship programme and a mentorship programme.

Internship Programme

Over the summer we will also announce a number of internships that will be available for under graduates that are in their second year as a summer placement or a year long industrial placement.

Mentorship Scheme

Satore aims to encourage and support either students’ in their final year of university or recent graduates transition from education to industry through a mentoring scheme. This scheme matches students interested in Lighting for Events, Immersive experiences and Business Management. The aim is to enable access to the Satore leadership team to help support professional development as mentees on the scheme enter the creative industries, offering support and guidance to the next generation of talent to enter the creative industries.

Potential outcomes for mentees

  • Work with your mentor to develop your future career plans.
  • Build meaningful contacts and professional relationships that could help in the future.
  • Develop skills in presentation, applications and interviews, communication and teamwork.
  • A useful sounding board for burning questions, and or advise based on experience of how to deal with different situations.
  • Build confidence.

Criteria for mentees

  • Final year of a relevant degree or recently graduated within the last 2 years.
  • Demonstrating a keen interest in Lighting for Architecture, Events, Immersive experiences or Business management.
  • A commitment to meet a mentor face-to-face, or online via Zoom, email or phone for one hour, once a month. 
  • Able to attend a introduction session with other mentees and all mentors (potentially face-to-face or via Zoom). Dates still to be announced. 
  • Able to feedback on their experience of the mentor scheme for continuous improvement.
  • Applicants will be shortlisted based on the application form where the information provided best fits with what Satore’s mentors can offer in helping meet the needs of the Mentee.
  • Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an informal interview with a Satore mentor to see how they could undertake the mentorship together to achieve the best outcomes for the mentee.

 

Tips for mentees

  • Mentoring will present a unique opportunity to question and listen to advice on career ideas and aspirations. This will be done in a confidential and safe environment.
  • Mentees are proactive, take responsibility and decide on actions to be taken during the mentoring relationship.
  • Mentoring will be with based on conversations and experiences with industry context in mind.
  • Matching is based on the industry the mentee would like to work in with a mentor that has relevant experience. However, the number of applicants for certain career areas could be in high demand therefore we cannot guarantee a preferred industry match.
  • Mentees should not limit themselves as growth often comes at the edge of the comfort zone.
  • All mentees will be asked to feedback on their experience of the scheme.

• 26th April 2024 – Shortlist Mentee’s interviewed
• 3rd May 2024 – Successful applications announced
• 15th May 2023 – Introduction Session
• Scheme runs from May 2024 – October 2024
• 9th November 2024 – Evaluation
