PROJECT: 360° VIDEO “ROSES OF MAY”

ROLE: Direction, Editing, Music & FX

The Château de La Colle Noire, formerly owned by Christian Dior himself in the 20th-century, has been the property of Parfums Christian Dior since 2013. The time Dior spent living in the house inspired him to create the iconic perfume Miss Dior, so the location is integral to the history of the perfume brand.

Satore was tasked with developing and directing a 360° VR film celebrating the May Rose. This is one of the few rose species used for perfumery, and an essential ingredient in Miss Dior, which is grown in the gardens of La Colle Noire.

It was a highly complex technical project that would employ a variety of cutting edge technologies including drones, cable cameras and 360° cameras. Nothing could be left to chance so Satore spent an initial two days on location planning how to best capture the inimitable ambience of the historic house, gardens and surrounding area.

The final video was made available to Dior devotees at its stores across the world. Customers were able to experience La Colle Noire through Dior Eyes, the brand’s own VR goggles. The film was shown in private screenings for clients, and was then made available through a number of online platforms including Facebook and Youtube. The film went on to gain over a million views.
