‘Percival’ : Myth and Virtual Production

‘Percival’ is our recent collaboration with Rebellion, MBS, Universal Pixel, Arri and Epic. Shot on Capital stage at Rebellion’s studio in Oxfordshire using Unreal Engine to bring environments to life in real-time. It was shot and produced during the COVID-19 lockdown with the production crew and performers adhering to social distancing guidelines.

Moreover, this project brought together a collision of creativity and cutting-edge technology. The use of virtual productions enables grand scale productions with both controlled costs and sustainable means. The CEO of Rebellion, Kingsley adds that it was important for him as a CEO to fully immerse himself in the technology and production process to be able to understand the new opportunities in virtual production

Virtual production allows for creative possibilities with lighting, composition and atmosphere to be made instantly on set making final frame decisions on set with the director being present. It is beneficial for the creative process as changes of a high concept picture can be seen instantly not months after in post-production, a game-changer for the industry.
